Courtney Olson had the business of beauty born into her blood. The granddaughter of a hairstylist and salon owner, she continues the tradition of beauty professionals in her family. Starting her career in costal Southern California, she brings her West Coast style to Chicago, and blends it with a Midwestern flair. 2022 marks Courtney’s 22nd year in the beauty industry. Twenty one of those years have been spent working professionally behind the chair. Courtney’s career started as a makeup artist at Victoria’s Secret Beauty and an on-location stylist for Hair Comes the Bride. Courtney began her career as a full-time stylist at Texture Salon in Corona del Mar, California in 2001. She spent nine years there refining her craft before moving to Chicago, Illinois. Since moving, she spent four and a half years at acclaimed Red 7 Salon in the River North neighborhood. In January 2015, Courtney began her next venture by opening her own salon business, Studio Noir on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago.
Inspiration and continuing education has been a driving factor in honing and developing her skill set. Courtney has extensive education in cutting from the Vidal Sassoon Academy as well as having attended courses taught by top product lines like Wella, Redken, Pravana, Kadus, Bumble & Bumble, Kevin Murphy and Schwarzkopf. She has also attended classes put on by acclaimed stylists of the Toni & Guy Academy, Antje Kastner, Martin Parsons, and more over the years. Old Hollywood glamour has been a major source of inspiration throughout Courtney’s career. Color correction, fashion hair coloring, and bridal/special occasion styling has become a passion and specialty that she offers. Head turning hair color, a custom cut exclusively designed for each client, and finishing every style with the look of vintage glamour or edgy modern is something Courtney strives for with each client that sits in her chair.
